Double flash plants
Mechanism of double flash power generation
A double flash system uses two flashes separating systems in order to generate more steam from the geothermal liquid and increase cycle output. The turbine is rotated by high-pressure steam and low-pressure steam. Mainly adopted for high-temperature and high-pressure geothermal fluid, the double flash method’s output is said to be 10% to 25% more than that of single flash power generation. Hatchobaru power plant and Mori power station employs this method
